Questions & Answers

What style of rendering is right for me?

Each project is different and may require different deliverables and a unique approach. We're here to provide you with an assortment of stunning visual options that will fit your design concept, schedule and budget. We offer several rendering styles that highlight as much, or as little, detail as possible.

If you're looking to get a quick snapshot of your project, the Wireframe style will be your best option. We can add color, textures and shadows to this style if necessary. If you are looking for something a little more polished, but don't have all of the details, the Watercolor style will help "fill in the gaps" and give you a wonderful image that looks like a finished design. If you have a finished design that you really want to show off and start marketing, the Photo-real style is the perfect tool.

With any option you choose, we can capture your design in it's true environment with surrounding buildings/context, proposed building materials and entourage population (people, cars, landscaping, etc.). Contact us today if you need further help in deciding which option is best for you.

What goes into the 3D Modeling & Rendering processes?

The main components of the 3D Modeling and Rendering processes are labor and render time. The labor that goes into 3D modeling involves (1) understanding your needs, (2) creating the model, and (3) adding texture/materiality to the model. If rendering is requested, (4) setting up lighting, (5) establishing the camera view(s), and (6) post-production/image enhancement would be three additional steps. As a client, your input would mostly be required during the labor process.

Render time is the amount of time the computer needs to create the image. This process time varies depending on the size and complexity of the model. This is a time when the computer works its magic, so there is little client participation during this process.

How long do the 3D Modeling & Rendering processes take?

This simple question does not always have a simple answer. The amount of time spent modeling and rendering is truly a case-by-case basis. Sometimes what seems like a highly complex, large-scale project image can be done very quickly with the use of pre-modeled items. On the other hand, it could take a large amount of time designing and rendering something custom and complex - even if it's smaller in scale than the larger project.

Is there anything I can do as a client to speed up your 3D Modeling & Rendering processes?

Yes! There are several things you can do as a client to help move workflow along quickly. We're more than willing to work off sketches or even a big idea - but the more you feed us in the beginning the better. Photographs, CAD drawings, material boards or even your rough 3D models are great tools that we can reference for faster model creation. These items, along with proper labeling/annotations and including possible camera locations/angles on the drawings, can significantly help reduce labor time.

Once into the rendering process, reducing the amount of revisions by providing detailed and specific feedback will also help save time and money. Our three-step approach is set up to allow for efficient and effective collaboration (See our "About" page). We welcome the completion of each step with a review session to discuss progress and potential changes. Additional revisions after the final review period could result in an additional priced change-order.

How are your prices determined?

This question specifically depends on your needs. The two factors that go into pricing are (1) the size and complexity of the 3D Model and (2) the detail and complexity of Render needed.

Modeling and Rendering are broken down into two separate line-item costs in your free quote. This simplifies the need for one or the other, and also makes it easy to quote additional renderings if necessary.
